就跟所有的台灣媽媽一樣，圖文作家徐玫怡的午餐也是昨夜的剩菜，但剩菜裝在白色琺瑯便當裡，一點也沒有隔夜菜的B級感。「在法國，每一餐只有一道肉和一點蔬菜，不像中式一定要三菜一湯。」她在法國待了超過10年，午餐也帶西式料理的精神，主菜是一道烤豬肉，配上油漬甜椒和義大利麵。

 

食物幾乎是徐玫怡在法國生活的全部了，「我每天煮三餐，加點心，還要帶小孩，已經忙到沒有自己的時間。」小孩稍大，她打算出門工作，卻只能做私廚、外燴，幫華人家庭準備外送熱食，「很早忙到晚，結果1個月營收12,000元台幣，還沒扣成本，還不如我回台灣當便利商店的店員好了。」

最難忍受的是在異國日子裡，因為語言和文化的隔閡，她愈來愈失去自己。「我喜歡聊天，擅長把事情講得很有趣，可是在法國，我卻變成一個內心不多話、很會作菜的妻子而已。」她3年前，決定帶兒子小福回台南定居，想讓兒子認識完整的母親，母親不只是會躲在廚房做菜的女人而已。

她出生於台南，從小不會念書，反覆尋找自己擅常的事：「我喜歡討論星座，也鼓勵小孩討論，不管是星座還是人類圖，都是尋找自己的過程。」她在唱片業大好的年代當文案、企畫，卻反覆離職只為了尋找創作的可能，直到1997年參加了漫畫比賽，以《姐姐日記》出道。

她最近重新出版這本出道作，作品裡嘲笑自己在重要場合，肢體會突然僵硬、在高級的紙上永遠畫不出好作品：「我就一直過B級的生活，現在懂得避開這些事，因為了解自己了，不會去那種讓自己僵硬的場合，不會買高級的紙來畫了。」

「我爸很愛念我，為什麼一天到晚發呆...我媽是說我，每天在『變孔變隙』（台語，弄東弄西）。」她手做娃娃屋、編故事給弟妹聽，帶著一群小孩演戲跳舞：「那些沒有意義的事，現在看起來，就是創造性活動。」所以，她現在看到兒子一直看youtube，心裡想著：「要看也看一下阿滴英文這種有教育意義的嘛，但這些話我都忍住了，我小時候也做一堆沒意義的事。」

父親開工廠，生意失敗時，帶著一家半夜搬家，四處躲債。那年，徐玫怡剛上台北念五專，要回家還不知道要回哪裡，還得先透過一個中間的同學跟媽媽連絡，約定地方來接她回家：「我從小到大，搬家超過30幾次，每次搬家，等於就重新審視自己珍惜的事，好比一箱朋友寄來的信，以為很重要，其實根本沒看幾次，後來全丟了。」

她說自己的消費欲極低，一年買不到幾件衣服，這大概也是搬家的後遺症了。人對物的欲念如此淡然，對情感的執念卻不見得如此。

1999年，徐玫怡在法國遇見了現在的對象阿福，當時她仍有婚姻狀況。剛認識阿福，她打電話跟丈夫說：「我在法國遇了一個帥哥，快要談戀愛了，怎麼辦？」丈夫回他：「好羨慕妳喔，我一直想交洋妞，結果妳先認識了帥哥。」丈夫後來傳真給她：「徐玫怡，放浪形駭吧。」

人性是複雜的：「我那時候同時愛上2個人，跟前夫講這些，是希望他能挽回我，把我拉回正途，可是他沒有。」百分百的放手，不也是另一種愛的表現嗎？「我知道他是愛自由的，他擔心我回頭之後，假若有一天同樣的情況發生在他身上，他沒有辦法做到同樣的事，他一輩子會有這個負擔。」

她與前夫離婚，40歲那年和阿福生了小福。3年前，阿福到中國工作，她意外發現阿福在天津有另外的女人：「那個解謎的過程簡直是偵探小說...當下是傷心的，那個傷心是自己曾經信仰的事被催毀，我以為你是誠實的人，結果不是。」

一路感情波折，她卻仍認為：「愛上一個人很簡單，要維持一段關係，端看你期待的是什麼...，很多女人常會抱怨，老公不照顧小孩，這幾年我的體會是，生小孩要問自己有沒有能力養，不必要有好對象才能生。」小福從小到大，阿福幫忙換尿布、洗澡的次數不超過5次，「現在小孩長大了，阿福每次來台灣可以花3個小時很認真陪兒子踢足球，每個人都有擅長的事，不必把一切寄望在別人身上。」她稱現在和阿福是「彼此放生」，兒子成了彼此共同的連結，這樣的關係距離是目前最舒服的狀態。

一個不斷搬家，反覆嚐試各種工作的女人，都是為了尋找自己。那個從小功課不出色、畫的作品不精美、終日為生活奔波、感情波折的B級人生：「現在活到50歲了，我開始接受一路走來的一切的，都是我。」B級的隔夜菜，換個漂亮的擺盤也可以是美味的一餐了。
